26TH MEETING IN VAL D’ORCIA
 The beautiful towns of the wonderful Val d’Orcia were the destinations of our 26th meeting.
Val d’Orcia is one of the most beautiful zones of Italy, rich of panoramic views and art treasures.
We were 35 crews on our spiders and we came from all the cities of Italy. For the first destination we went to the famous medieval town of Montepulciano, where we had a guided visit to the city and to the “Redi” cellar: here is the production of the precious wine “Vino Nobile di Montepulciano”.
After the visit of Montepulciano, we went to visit the beautiful jewel of architecture that is Pienza., There we had dinner at the famous restaurant “ Buca delle Fate” where we tasted all the typical specialities of this region like grilled meat and “ Cantuccini with Vin Santo”
Ther was also a nice and small exhibition of objects and art works about the world of the Fiat 124 spider, which were created by our members’s creativity.
The second day we went to Montalcino by driving through San Quirico d’Orcia, a route which was one of the theatres of the mythical 1000 miles (1000 miglia).
In Montalcino we visited the city and the famous “ Castello Banfi”, the seat where the most famous wine of Tuscany (the Brunello of Montalcino) is producted. There we tasted the delicious products of this cellar and we visited also a surprisingly collection of artistic pane of glasses.
The our meeting was at his end and we have collected an other very nice experience.
